About the vineyard
Element 79 Vineyards is at 2400 feet elevation in the heart of the Fair Play AVA. Our 70 acre estate has 32 acres of vines planted. The upper vineyard has 5 acres of Cabernet Sauvignon, 5 acres of Petite Sirah and 2.5 acres of Viognier. The lower vineyard has 2 acres of Cabernet Franc, 1 acre of Petite Verdot, 7 acres of Syrah and 10 acres of Zinfandel. Planted in 2003-2005 to 8x5 spacing with VSP trellising. Syrah and Viognier are cane pruned. We produce award winning premium wines for our own label from these quality grapes. This one acre of Primitivo is on our Element House Estate. It is a new acquisition of Element 79 Vineyards located just 1 1/2 down the road from our estate vineyards. This Primitivo is head trained with 10'x8' spacing. We are farming these vines with the same great farming practices as our estate vineyard.

It is grown at 2400 feet elevation in the heart of the highly regarded Fair Play AVA. It is excellently farmed and the fruit load is managed to produce 3 1/2 - 4 tons per acre.
